Taraba state governorship candidate of the people’s Democratic Party (PDP), Col. Kefas Agbu on Saturday assured that he would transform the education sector of the state to meet the global standard.

Agbu stated this in his home town in Wukari, Wukari local government while playing host to his kinsmen, expressed that ensuring quality education was key to training young citizens that would effectively manage the economy and attract development for the state.

According to him, developed nations were transformed by people with a quality educational background that believe in development and he would ensure both primary and secondary schools in the state are equipped with modern learning and teaching equipment as well as training for teachers to actualize the goal.

The guber candidate noted that the idea would also help in mitigating the growing insurgence among young citizens who according to him were into criminal activities due to a lack of adequate knowledge for development.

“My desire for quality education in Taraba if elected governor, is to build development base young talent who would think positive about the state.

“With quality education for our children, developmental ideas would be impacted in the manner that non would grow to think of criminality.

“I believe in peace and development, the peace among citizens is what I believe would attract development.

“I want to assure people of Taraba that, as an ex-military intelligence officer, the growing insurgence in the state would no longer be a challenge if elected,” Agbu assured.

Earlier, HRM. Aku UKa of Wukari, Manu Ishaku Ada told the guber candidate in his palace that the people of the local government were convinced by his profile as an ex-military officer who would be able to handle the rising insecurity and bring development to the state.

Our correspondent reports that, Col. Agbu later presented his running mate, Hon. Abdullahi Aminu Alkali to the PDP southern zone of Taraba State.
