Kirby Smart’s Georgia football team has a real shot to pull off an unprecedented three-peat.

Fresh off a pair of national championships, Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs must put in the work.

The Dawgs are no longer hunting; they are the hunted. Nobody outside of Dawg Nation wants to see them pull off an unprecedented three-peat. But let’s be real. Are you taking Georgia or the field in 2023? The Dawgs have lost one game in the last two seasons combined. They have not lost a regular-season game in two years. Despite losing a ton to the NFL, they have what it takes.

Let’s take a look at what the Dawgs will have to navigate on their 2023 regular-season schedule.

Georgia football: Way-too-early game predictions for the 2023 Bulldogs

1

UT-Martin Skyhawks

Home Sept. 2

 All SEC

Congrats to the UT-Martin Skyhawks for showing up and collecting their check!

Sanford Stadium will be packed to the brim when the UT-Martin Skyhawks come to town. Oh, it will have nothing to do with the opponent, but rather it being the home opener for the two-time defending national champions. This game should be over well before halftime. It will be a great opportunity for Smart to develop depth in the latter portions of the game he will need later on.

Winner: Georgia (1-0)

2

Ball State Cardinals

Home Sept. 9

Ball State Cardinals

Another week, another non-conference preseason game for the mighty Bulldogs

It may be a step up in competition for the Dawgs, but Ball State is not anything close to a worthy adversary Between the Hedges. We all said the same thing this time a year ago when fellow MAC team Kent State came to town. Truth be told, whether it be Kent State, Ball State or State State, the Dawgs will roll all day in this one. Complacency may start to set in, just a tad before SEC play…

Winner: Georgia (2-0)

3

South Carolina Gamecocks

Home Sept. 16

South Carolina Gamecocks

Here is to Will “Boom” Muschamp breaking a whiteboard at halftime this season

There are only a few games on the schedule where the Dawgs might lose. South Carolina coming to town might be one of them. Shane Beamer has the Gamecocks rolling entering year three. Although South Carolina is probably not winning this year’s border war, it may take a Will Muschamp vs. a whiteboard halftime show to get the Dawgs to rattle Spencer Rattler in this one.

Winner: Georgia (3-0)

4

UAB Blazers

Home Sept. 23

UAB Blazers

Trent Dilfer will find out the Dawgs are elite and his 11 UAB Blazers are not yet

Fresh off their first SEC win of the season, the Dawgs will welcome a Super Bowl champion’s team into Sanford Stadium. It may be a level up from Lipscomb Academy talent at Trent Dilfer’s disposal, but this is the Classic City, y’all! After having played with their food a good bit vs. South Carolina, Smart will show Dilfer that his Bulldogs are elite and his 11 UAB Blazers are not just yet.

Winner: Georgia (4-0)
