Rory McIlroy headlines the Valero Texas Open as he looks to find some form ahead of The Masters, where reigning Open champion Brian Harman and Ryder Cup stars Ludvig Åberg, Matt Fitzpatrick and Tommy Fleetwood all feature.

This week’s PGA Tour event at TPC San Antonio offers the final available invite to The Masters, with the winner getting a last-minute spot to the opening major of the year next week at Augusta National.

Former FedExCup champion Billy Horschel and Ryder Cup winner Robert MacIntyre are among those looking for a PGA Tour victory, with England’s Aaron Rai and major regular Matt Kuchar also requiring a win.

The LIV Golf League season continues in Miami, with Jon Rahm back in action ahead of his title defence at The Masters. The Spaniard is among 13 players from LIV Golf scheduled to tee it up at The Masters next week.

Nelly Korda chases an unprecedent fourth consecutive LPGA Tour victory at the T-Mobile Match Play, which consists of three days of stroke play golf followed by a weekend of knockout matches.

The top 36 players after the first two rounds progress to Friday and the top eight after 54 holes then make it through to the match play part, with quarter-final and semi-final matches on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s final.

Future stars of women’s golf compete at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, with the final round taking place at Augusta National on Saturday, while this week’s Ladies European Tour action comes from the Australian Women’s Classic.

What happened in the majors in 2023?

Brian Harman claimed victory at The Open, following on from Jon Rahm’s success at The Masters, Brooks Koepka adding to his PGA Championship tally and Wyndham Clark claiming a maiden major win at the US Open.

Four of the five women’s majors produced maiden champions, with Lilia Vu victorious at the Chevron Championship, Ruoning Yin securing the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and Allisen Corpuz the US Women’s Open.

Celine Boutier stormed to an impressive breakthrough success at the Evian Championship, before Vu registered a second major title after beating Englishwoman Charley Hull to AIG Women’s Open glory at Walton Heath.
