Share price of Voltas jumps as Sensex drops 281.59 points

The share price of Voltas Ltd. gained 1.92 per cent to Rs 1085.95 at 11:16AM (IST) in Tuesday’s trade. The counter has hit a high of Rs 1086.25 and low of Rs 1060.0 so far during the session. The stock had closed at Rs 1065.4 in the previous session.

The counter has had a total traded volume of 15182 shares so far with a value of Rs 1.63 crore on the NSE. It traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 128.14 and a price-to-book ratio of 4.96.

A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price for per rupee earnings given by the stock because of better future growth expectations.

The price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and reflects the price investors are willing to pay even for no growth in the business.

The scrip gained 32.16 per cent during the past one year, while the 30-share index advanced 24.56 per cent during the same period.

Key Financials

The firm reported consolidated net sales of Rs 2683.61 crore for the quarter ended 31-Dec-2023, up 13.53 per cent from the previous quarter’s Rs 2363.73 crore and up 31.79 per cent from the year-ago quarter’s Rs 2036.27 crore.

Loss for the latest quarter stood at Rs 30.41 crore, down 72.45 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.
