The Chinese Communist Party leadership met with Xi Jinping doubling down on China’s resolve to take Taiwan by any means necessary.

“Xi Jinping has been governing badly – he’s made a lot of mistakes already, and an attack on Taiwan – if he ventured down that path – would have dire consequences for China,” Former Defence Intelligence Analyst Paul Monk told Sky News Australia.

Mr Monk said the Chinese Communist Party political meetings “run to a script” and are different to the “debate and interjection” that Australians are accustomed to.

Xi Jinping has taken China “backwards” by asserting this authority he said.
